Default Do you use automatic car washes?
Some people are telling me that automatic car washes with the brushes scratch your paintwork and others say that this only applied to the early models. As the paint on my Audi is pretty swirl free I don't want to find out the hard way! Anyone got any experience of this or comments to make on the subject?

Dont use them, cause my cars have metalic paint on them. Tried it with my languna and the paint work never looked the same, even after using t-cut to many times to count.

I know that allot of people do use them, but i would rather stick with using the old fashioned hose, bucket and sponge!
I know my local Ford garage employs a car washer, who i see every day washing cars, so this also makes me think that they would rather pay a person to wash cars than take them through a car wash......makes you think!

When I used to be a mechanic at my local Toyota dealership we had a Paseo come in with its boot lid ripped off. It had gone through an auto car wash and one of the flappy thingies had wrapped itself round the spoiler.

So no I would never use one.
