Question Classic cars, an investment opportunity

Do you think that classic cars are an investment opportunity or just money pits?

Have you ever owned a classic and did you profit when you sold it, when you take into account the maintainance work and running costs?

agree with lutonmatt. I would really love to buy an Intergrale or a a decent Escort Cosworth (the only thing is that i would be sorely tempted to go out in them all the time). Anything older than this, apart from early escorts, is not my cup of tea.

Classic car ownership tends to be depreciation proof but I dont think you really make money on them.
