Car gadget projects?

Is there any site out there where car electronic projects are shown in diy style?
I am hoping that somewhere out there there is a place where you can learn about installing or even building electronic type projects (such as keyless ignition, hud, etc). I know its possible to get kits from Hong Kong for such projects but also know from experience that the instructions are rubbish and that individuals have done similar type of jobs using their own knowledge and gear.

I have not heard of one to date but I shall have a look about as it is an interesting subject. If you find anything in the meantime then let us know!

I'm sure you google specific projects. There's a few on here as well irrc. PG's carputer comes to mind.

@T9 Won't take me long to get my post count up
I know that through the various cars I've owned and forums I've joined that a lot of the forums have members who've done their own little experiments and published there, but it'd be great to find a central place to do that exact thing.
I remember seeing (although not where!) rain sensors for windscreen wipers, automatic lights on, auto-window closure, etc.
Just seems like a great opportunity to go a step further!
