Default Breaking bad news

How do you break bad news about someones car.

If you had an accident that was clearly your fault how do you tell your other half/parents? Do you confess or make something up?

park up, keep quiet, and then wait and see how long it takes them to notice. At least you may get another nights peaceful sleep before the inevitable explosion.

i had to do it to a customer once took there car out to get some petrol for anothe rcar and a test drive to find a fault
and i was stoped at a set of lights when a clio smashed into the back of me lifted the little saxo i was in right up onto his bonnet as when i come off the brakes i slid down it

thinking it was going to be smashed to bad i would have to walk back to work got out and looked at it just to find the back bumper had a split in and the boot floor had been pushed up a bit from the towing eye

his car the bonnet had pushed up into the windscreen and did not go anywere as it smashed everything on the front
so i drove to work and rang the customer
saying have some good news and some bad news
good news i found the fault was the rear brake shoes
bad news is will have to have it a bit longer as its in teh body shop next door as someone drove into me lol

they was ok about it so that was good
