| Blown Exhaust It looks like the first mod for my Civic will completed this wednesday. My exhaust has managed to develop a hole (not sure how) so instead of repairing it I'm gonna have a Powerflow exhaust fitted. I noticed the sound on the way to work wednesday but it was too late to check it, so after having a look at it thursday daytime, and listening to it...I decided it had blown! I'll post a picture after it has been done!

| Re: Blown Exhaust Forgot to ask.....I have to drive on monday (from Northampton to Luton (takes about an hour))...is there anything I should be careful of? E.g. Certain speeds. And will this cause any effects on the car by still driving? Thanks guys

| Re: Blown Exhaust Be watchful of the A421 if you use that road. TVP love setting up the tally van on the Tingewick bypass. Although it's usually positioned on the westbound side, they do monitor both carriageways. Rumour has it that they're disinterested below about 85mph, but they might have a bad hair day.
As for the exhaust, as long as the leak is in the pipe length and not the manifold then you won'y do any harm at all. Just look under the car and check that nothing's about to fall onto the road.
It's unlikely to be manifold as the noise would be absolutely horrendous. And the running would be extremely rough. |

| Re: Blown Exhaust yeah if the manifold was blown youd be looking at spitting flames from the under the car.
powerflow done a good job wi my prelude cost me around £300 for the flexipipe back ( no cat due to it being a 1990 car ) sounded great and gave a better throttle response
not bad since my local car supply said it be 2 weeks before they could get a standard exhaust for it

| Re: Blown Exhaust The best way to find a leaking exhaust is at night with a torch. I found a few pin pricks along a seam this way on my last car.

| Re: Blown Exhaust Or take it to the dealership or decent local exhaust fitter (avoid the Kwik bodge lot at all costs) and get them to examine it. |

| Re: Blown Exhaust Back box, larger pipe (the middle bit) and tailpipe. Sports cat can't go on yet...I need to wait until I've had the engine conversion. Manifold hasn't been done for the same reason. But it looks good and sounds even better!

| Re: Blown Exhaust That's looking nice - it looks like a pretty snug fit. Do you get any vibrations from it?

| Re: Blown Exhaust Not inside the car...it vibrates a little bit when I switch the engine off. But it sounds beautiful! I had it done a CC-Customs, the guy who fitted it had to cut the bumper so the tailpipe would fit...but he's done a great job.
I got my mate to listen to it as I drove off at 6000rpm....he was very impressed!
