Default Best 3 Magazines for Building & Tuning Performance Cars

By LogisticsMan (195.93.33. on Friday, January 21, 2005 - 08:30 pm: Edit

Just wondering which monthly mags are considered to be the best - specifically for buliding, tuning and buying performance cars. (NOT webzines)
Thanks.

Banzai is pretty good - Jap based cars only though but not your typical girls draped over cars scene. Cars and car conversions was great but they stopped producing it - I wish they'd bring it back. JTUNER is very informative.

I think online forums provide the best source of information. Find a website based specifically around the car/s you own. Most of them have guides, but more importantly you can ask knowledgeable people for advice, or put forward the problems you have come across while getting alot of different peoples opinions.

Default Viva la Forums!

Spot on Freddie, I agree - Forums are an invaluable source of information. Particularly relevant information. I couldn't believe how much info I found while researching my latest purchase (ST170), most was fantastic (quirks, s/w bugs, fixes etc).

Back on topic ...I'm no mechanic, but from what little mags I've read on this topic, my vote goes to EVO.

Cheers,
Hideo

CCC is still available, but only in the States. Over here it has been re-titled as "Track and Race Cars"

Practical Performance Car is worth a look.

I din't realise it had been retitled- I'll have to "track" it down! I have quite a few issues of PPC and it is a good informative read.
