Default A1 GP or F1 what are the differences?

Ok so I'm going to sound like a moron asking this so here goes.

My non imagined real friend would like to know what the difference is between the two race series F1 and A1?

the codfather is an unknown quantity at this point
Default

A1 is a multi national championship,by that I mean the driver is racing FOR his country, and is sponsored BY his country.
I know in F1 the winner always says " Ya,i deed zis for de Faterland" ( in Schumeys case anyway. That accent wouldnt work for say.......Raikonnen ).
In F1 the driver is racing for his TEAM,regardless of where the team is based/from.
In Buttons case he will say "Yes I am racing for England".Translate that into....." Im racing so that I can buy another pad in Monaco and carry on living the playboy lifestyle.I know I will never be champion, but what the heck, its something to do at the weekend".

I dont want to start another debate on Schumey,but.....love him or hate, the sport will miss him.And for the record......my money is on Massa for the title this year, with Hamilton a very close second
