| Re: What car to put this engine in? That's the kiddie! Five million lbft. You can never have too much torque! Sulzer makes a lot of rail traction diesel units as well as marine ones.
BR's famous Class 47 locomotives used Sulzer four stoke V12 turbo diesel engines rated at 2750bhp at about 850rpm!
The nicest sounding engine BR ever used was the Paxman Valenta V12, each end of a seven car set these made the most stunning screaming sound with turbos at full boost. |
