Default performace issues > exported astra

Hi All - hope someone could give some advise on this.....
I recently exported my 2005 Astra 1.9cdti to South Africa.
My enquiries with Vauxhall UK and Opel SA about parts and fuel compatibility all turned out "OK", in so far as they both siad there would be "no compatibility issues"
However - after filling up (from almost empty) for the first time, the car's performance has been terrible!!! Sluggish and slow acceleration!!!
Vauxhall UK said the on board computer would be able compensate for any changes after approx. 8 "drive cycles"
Worryingly - nothing has improved after a weeks worth of driving....

Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance....

crap fuel over there.
was the car standard or had it been played about with
try disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours and see if that helps it should hopefully reset the ECU nominal values

How come SA produced turbo diesels don't suffer the same poor acceleration?
I agree fuel in SA is of a poorer quality than in the UK though....

I will give the battery idea a go....

What other suggestions? Is there some fuel additive or upgrade that could help?

Thanks
Dave

you might find that the mapping used on the SA versions will be different to cope with the poor fuel

if this is so its the only other thing i can think of is speaking to opel to get the ECU flashed with the latest SA version.

or buy a tanker of decent fuel

I wouldn't map to make up for poor quality fuel. This will exacerbate any deposit problems.

Additives are the way with this issue
