ECU remap should cover most of your needs. Celtic tuning will see 205bhp and a whopping 318 lbft

to get 240 bhp ( 150 + 60%) youll need alot more than just the remap,
forced induction is the use of turbos or superchargers, the GTTDi has a pretty good one on it as it is.
the standard intercooler isnt that great as its stuck away in the inner wing look towards a front mounted one from the likes of forge then speak to celtic tuning as HDi has said this will give you slightly more than the 205bhp.

but with diesels its not the power your looking for its the torque your wanting due to the lower rev range that it uses.

just for some info im sure youve seen the fabia thats running at 260 bhp and around 380ftlb on youtube

this is running,
new larger hybrid turbo
Large front mount intercooler
Nitrous
Propane gas injection ( on top of the nitrous )
straight through exhaust - no cat or particle filter
a higher lift cam
water / meth injection
and high flow injectors
and finally a rr session with revo to do a custom map.

this isnt for the faint hearted to do and will prob cost more than the golfs worth. big turbo upgrades normally cost around £3k by the time youve accounted the turbo, plumbing and the mapping

try the generic remap 1st ( ECU will fine tune it slightly anyway as it learns itself )to see if thats enough for you and then look towards getting a custom one done after youve replaced the hoses and got a new intercooler

A hybrid turbo will allow bigger boost ratios. Torque is the key factor, as PG says. This is why a 200bhp diesel drives like a 300bhp petrol car in the midrange - becuase the torque figures are similar.

My own car is just over 190bhp but the 330lbft make it very very swift indeed. Go and look at specs for NATASP petrols and you'll need four litres plus to get similar torque figures.

A often said, we all talk brake horse power but we all drive torque.
