Default Life expectancy for an hdi engine?

I have been offered a one family (Elderlyish )owned 12 year old HDI engined citroen with 203,000 on the clock, everything seems ticketyboo. How long are these engines meant to last? My old xud 205 just would not die and it ran out of oil many times, overheated twice (dUE to no anti freeze in the frozen solid water). Any ideas, Thank you

Point A to B is more than getting to the end, it's about the experience. Some cars are great to own, others are great to drive; there is no comparison as far as driving experience goes.

Caution must prevail. 203,000 with a full service history is fine. If it's not documented then run away very fast.

Still should have plenty of life in it if it has been looked after.

The bottom end of those engines are indentical to the XUD7/9 (Crank, barings the rods are slightly different but are of the same dimensions and stronger, but the pistons are of totally new design)

My 306 XUDt has 74k on the clock from new, so should last well by the sounds of it....
