Default diesel chip help

I have an '05 Honda accord tourer i-CDTi and personally I think its a bit sluggish but a lovely car. I'd like to make it a little quicker so I'm thinking of installing a chip. I've seen them on e-bay for around £100 and in other places for up to £400 but I don't understand much about them so is there any difference? Any help or advice would be greatly recieved. Thanks for your time - Lee

Buying a chip is cheap, but you don't know what you're getting - some of them effectively just force the choke to remain on constantly, for example.

A remap is significantly more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Celtic Tuning gives a remap of 194bhp (up from 138) and 295lb-ft (up from 252) for a CDTi Accord. This is due to clutch limits - an uprated clutch allows 197bhp and 330lb-ft.

Custom remapping is the way to go without a doubt. Plug in boxes and chips jusr interfere with the proper operation of the fuel system.
