hmmm...the software's arrived eh?...I'm getting excited already. Can't wait to see how much difference a remap can make to these engines. Now, all I have to do is try to find a nearly new Cee'd at an affordable price!

Cheers...well, of course I'm probably looking for the unlikely, but ideally would like a Cee'd (113bhp, so basically the LS) under £12k and which hasn't done a silly amount of miles. Optimistic I know, but I'm wondering now if getting the GS, which I think would be cheaper and then getting a remap, might be an option. Although I need to check if you still get the ipod input on the GS.

Thanks

I have spoken to one of our sales guys and we don't have any used Cee'd in at the moment. The cheapest we have had one go for is 10,999 so you could find one that fits your budget. If we have one come through the workshop for a used PDI thats in your price range I'll let you know.

Cheers, I really appreciate it. I'm hoping once the new registration comes out, there might be a few part-exchanges going on and one might turn up.

I think people will start trading them in against the Pro-Cee'd or the Cee'd SW estate so you should have a good chance of finding one.

Anybody used tunit.co.uk? Just wondering if they're any good - it looks like they do the plugin ECU system rather than a remap, but I'm a newbie to this stuff and don't really understand the technicalities of this stuff.

Don't touch plugins. They're crude at best and damaging or dangerous at worst.

Custom re-map is the only way to go.

Dont confuse piggy backs with Plugins though there is a big difference. In a Rover MEMS the only tuning you can do is via a piggyback ecu.

The recent Rover diesels use Bosch EDC16 type ECUs. These are easy to fiddle with. As for petrol units I suspect you're right. Piggyback is the only option.
