Default Boxer diesel engine from Subaru

Has anyone heard anything about the new Subaru Boxer diesel engine? It sounds quite impressive from what i've heard but info seems a bit thin on the ground.

I've seen a few of these about over the last couple of years.

Outside the engine sounds very refined indeed but reviews suggest that despite it's performance the refinement on the inside is not brilliant.

I have a customer who runs one of these and he agrees - it's quick and economical with fuel but you're always aware you're driving a 4 cylinder diesel in terms of general refinement. Something Euro makers have largely overcome now.
