Cool 406 judering

iv recently had the clutch changed on the 406hdi, for all the wrong reasons but anyway, its juddering quit badly just as you bring it to the biting point. i know it will judder slightly but this is way too much for a new clutch to be doing and just too much full stop. she didnt do it before and only since the clutch has been instaled is she doing it, any reasons why and a way to cure the problem if possible would be much appricated

Possibly the dual mass flywheel is starting to fail. Engine mounts can play up but the HDi 90 in stock tune does not really have enough torque to do them any damage.

The clutches on all 406s should be silky smooth and very well cushioned with no judder at all.

But before going down the DMF route (they're pricey) get the whole brake and clutch hydraulic setup bled thoroughly so that you have clean brake fuid throughout the entire system.

There is only one reservoir and it's mounted atop the brake master cylinder/servo assembly. The clutch master leeches from this - there is not a separate clutch reservoir.

she has a solid flywheel so i cant see that being the problem. could it be a warpd pressure plate?

Transmissions are not my specialist area of knowledge. I would still consider a fluid change before you go dismantling the car again.
