This vehicle has been turbocharged using a low compression Peugeot 106 xsi TU short engine. The compression has been reduced further by the fitting of two headgaskets.
The cylinder head and cam which we have used on this conversion are from a Peugeot 205 XS. The capacity of this engine remains at 1360cc.
This engine in this vehicle has been modified using parts from the renault 5 GT turbo. It is fitted with a new Renault 5 GT turbo turbocharger. The carb, wastegate, boost pipes and fuel pump have all been fitted from the renault 5 GT turbo. Spoox Motorsport have fabricated the inlet and exhaust manffold as well as set the vehicle up the run the Peugeot engine. The timing and fuelling have all been reset to run the factory 8 PSI which is standard of the 5 turbo.
This vehicle has been fitted with the following new parts during the conversion -
106 GTI clutch and flywheel, 306 gearbox, new headgasket and cambelt, new wishbone, new exhaust downpipe, new wishbone pinch bolts, new custom induction kit, new rear wheel cylinder.
This is a 1990 G plate 205 and therefore comes with the much nicer series 2 rear lights and clear indicators as well as having central locking and electric windows which are both factory fitted. It also has a sunroof and 1.6 GTI alloy wheels with good tyres.
We have converted this vehicle to be as stealth as possible with no external or internal giveaways as to what lurks beneath the bonnet. even the boost gauge has a custom pod behind the heater vent as shown in the pics. The rest of the car remains unmolested and original even the parcel shelf has no speaker holes or tabs broken off.
This vehicle has been converted to a very high standard using custom intercooler and T16 fan kit.
We have had our fun from the car and have much larger conversions to be getting on with so sadly we have to say goodbye to this fantastic little car. It has been a lot of fun and we will be sad to see it go.
We have just re'mot'd the car today and it passed with flying colours - so the lucky winner has a full 12 months ticket included. This car is very very clean with no dents, scratches or rust !!
