Cool RE: hi radio cd problem

im ian collett from dunfermline in scotland.
i owen a nissan primera 2.2 tdci 5 door hatch back 2004 its my pride and joy
id like to know if anyone can help me with my problem, my cd changer in the car wouldnt eject cds so i got another one from scrappys out of a 2005 primera.
put cd changer in but it only says wait no music from radio or cd does not play what am i doing wrong or is there a pin number i should be entering id be very pleased if anyone can help me

normally it would come up saying you need a code unless nissan do it differently

welcome to the forum

normally using a different radio in a primera, requires a recode from nissan - as they are coded to the ECU from the car they were installed in

thank you for your reply,i dont see how it would have a code it would take a long time to steal it as you have to start at centre of glove box then work your self forward and that took nearly 1 hour to get it but thanks again

Yes well I for one would be stunned if it did not have a code. The idea is that it is married to your ECU to help prevent other rascals from taking it. The fact that it may take you an hour or so to remove it neatly is neither here nor there, and you are not a thief so you may well be unaware of any time reducing short cuts

If a radio etc is presented to a main dealer to be recoded for installation into a particular car of the same manufacturer, then they usually insist on seeing the original documents from whence the unit came. This does make life very awkward for some people but it is essential.

i did pay around £20 to renault for the radio code ..... thats the worst you can get if you go to the main dealer garage...
