Hi Alex and welcome to the site. Another 206 owner - we have quite a few now! Post up some details in the Peugot section and let us know what mods you have done and what you are planning.

Hey y'all,

I'm Fred or for people who know me from the net, Rommel.

Current Car is a stock 1991 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Ain't in great condition but that's what I'm here for, to learn how to turn my pile of rust into an smooth running, cool looking pile of shiny metal that makes wrooom wrooom.

Hallo all, my name is Herman and I’m from sunny South Africa. I recently purchase a 1998 Honda Prelude VTI-R I discovered at a nearby auto dealer. The original owner never drove it therefore it only has 29000km on it. These types of cars have great potential and the engines are virtually unbreakable if you treat them sensibly. I am planning to do some mild modifications on it considering the already potent engine of 195hp or 145kw. My biggest concern is the high RPM’s in top gear (5); if it is possible to bring the RPM,s down by 1000RPM at cruising speed (currently 3800RPM @120km/ph), that would be great.

Hi HermanVTI-R. The Honda VTEC engines are built for high revs. It can be a little worrying after your last car which probably redlined at 4500 or 5000 rpm. The short crank in the Honda is best suited to high revs and the engine comes alive when you keep it in the VTEC zone. You will probably find the car less economical if you changed the gearing so the cruising speed was only at 2900 rpm.

hey all. doing the newbie thing and saying hi! been driving my 95 polo classic for a while now, but just started to think about modding her a bit, going for the sleeper look. spent a blistering hour de-badging the back end last weekend, now she's smooth as.

Boss429 will become famous soon enough

Hi everyone, I live in Albany, NY and up until a couple days ago I was the owner of a 1998 Dodge Intrepid ES. I think i totaled it so I will probably be in the market for a new car pretty soon.

I am a student so I am looking for something pretty cheap and used, maybe 4 -5 grand, but still something that I can mod and have fun with. Any suggestions?

Hey all... I live in Devon, and work as an IT Manager, so I've got access to lots of IT geek-ness.

I'm not really modding my car (wife won't let me), so I'm just adding loads of hidden touches. Currently installing a motorised fold down screen from the roof to hook up to the iPod video. I'm fully documenting it, so if anyone wants to see progress I can start a thread.

Sneaky Wallydogking if you think about it she wont see the engine - so a litle engine swap might be something you can get away with. I am very interested to see your progress - please start a thread in the members gallery forum.

Welcome to the site Boss429. You have my sympathy. I quite like the older mustangs - but are you looking for something more modern? What about an import car like a Honda Civic? I know your petrol prices are going up (they are still cheaper than ours in the uk which is about $2 a litre.)

I would love to get an older mustang im just afraid if something goes wrong with it I wont be able to find a mechanic who would know what to do with it.

I doubt I'd get very good mileage on it either, especially bc it would be my only car

all that said, once I get a steady job I promised myself I would get a older mustang late 1960s, the car of my dreams.

i have been considering civics, jettas, etc, theyre all still options...thanks for the help!
