Default New Toyota Celica Owner... ...Advice for track day mods?

Hello All

I've got my hands on a 5th generation toyota celica with the 2 ltr twin cam 16v engine. The purpose of the car will be to do a few track days, anyone know of any modifications worth doing? I've seen a few induction kits online, are they worth it?

Cheers

Dan

Hi and welcome, I've put some tips in your thread in our Toyota forum.

Induction kits are good for noise, but power wise you might as well just fit a sports panel filter. This also saves you from messing around with cold air feeds.

Strip the life out of it if it's for track days. Everything else depends on how much you're really to spend but a damn good set of coilovers, some sticky rubber and good brakes go a long way on a the track. These should take priority.

Welcome.

I personally would stick to suspension mods. strut tower bar, stiffer struts and shocks, lowering springs (both the lowering springs and stiffer struts and shocks can be eliminated should you choose to get more expensive adjustable coilovers), sway bars, and depending on the car, tougher steering knuckles.
