Hello and welcome to Torque Cars.
Does your car have a full exhaust or a cat-back system?
The suspension may be Coilovers.

Is the clutch slipping? Has the car been stood for any amount of time?

The best oil is Silkolene Pro-S 10/50 and use a genuine Mitsubishi filter, chaep oil and filters do not work.
Before considering more power, make sure the engine compression pressures are good, should be 150 psi, minimum of 134 psi.
Ensure the full cambelt service is within date.
After that get it data logged to see what's happening with the fueling, timing etc.
Then if all is well consider the route to more power, of which there are several options but do not be tempted by the cheap bleed valve system, it will destroy your engine.
Welcome aboard.

For a direct brake upgrade try DBA discs and Redstuff/Yellowstuff or DS2500's. If you don't already have them, Goodridge hoses are a good upgrade to complement the brakes.

Would you mind telling me more specifics about your car. Here in the states, GTO takes on a whole different meaning. The last model put out in 2008 had 400hp running a Corvette derived engine. A link would be great for us slow Americans.

Okay. I have one of those. A '91. I am the original owner. It is the Stealth ES, only 222hp stock though. Not a turbo. It is a blast to drive and it corners extremely well. The 3 liter gets about 23mph on the highway. Not too many cost effective engine mods for a normally aspirated engine. 3SX Performace is a site I would recommend for you.
