Default New guy from Scotland with Honda Civic

Hi guys,i am 66,into sprints and hill climb competitions. i just purchased a 1996 Civic with the 1.6 DOHC VTEC engine...lovely engine.
I am open to any suggestions to further enhance the BHP...so far I have fitted induction kit,s/s 4-2-1 exhaust,Type R pistons and had the head skimmed. It is pushing about 180BHP right now...would like to get it up to 200BHP.

Welcome to the site - another car from "over the border" . You have a nice set up there. Have you altered the VTEC timing - getting the VTEC to kick in a little earlier will help push you nearer to your power figure (is that at the flywheel or on the road?)

You can get an ecu upgrade which does this - probably one of the easiest Modifications you can do. With your set up i'd recommend going for a custom map - the engine is much stronger now.

When you had the skim - did you change the valves?
