Default New boy on the forum!

Hi All - hey great site, amazed I haven't come across it before, and its good to be so obviously among friends.
Currently work in Community Flood Recovery in Scotland, and drive an Audi A3, 138 bhp. I travel about 50,000 mls / year, so I neeed a car that was an upgrade from my Golf, which prior to someone writing it off had traveled some 321,000 trouble free miles, - yes I do try to look after my car.
Big worry is I understand that the Audi 143 bhp 2L engine has a tendency to suffer from oil pump failure. Can anyone on the forum let me know if Audi have resolved what appeared to be quite a serious problem. The car is 2011 vintage. Any info would help me to decide whether or not to remove the oil pump modify it and replace or just to leave it alone.

May I as the site admin wish you a very warm welcome to TorqueCars. It is really nice to meet you and I hope you'll be spending some time with us over the months to come.
You'll find us one of the friendliest and most helpful car tuning forums around.

Nearly all of the VAG group issues were sorted out on later cars it is the BRB engine codes that were prone to this issue. Oil pump failure is commonly attributed to the use of inccorect oil grades and sludge build up.

What plans do you have for your car? I'm sure we can give you lots of ideas and suggestions if you need any.

Do feel free to chip in on our other topics and discussions, we are all here to share our passion for cars. Being friendly and helpful is a forum rule here and I'm sure you'll fit in just fine.
