hello and a warm welcome to TorqueCars, how much are you willing to spend? A supercharger is the most impressive power mod you can do but might not be within your budget? If not we can talk about other engine mods.

Thank you all guys.. Well even i dont really know the exact price of the supercharger, it seems to be really expensive as the car would then need some other mods in order not to face any problems (like i read in some of your articles about tuning)

the supercharger kits are pretty expensive, but some can be run on standard.
Jackson Racing used to do them for the mx5. included new ECU as well

according to them no, depends on how much boost its running, cant remember what the gains were on it but they were selling it as a direct bolt on a few years ago, saying that i think it was for the 1.6

thanks sounds nice... and how many bhp would it give to the car?? Plus i read to an article in the site that <<The clutch should be the primary upgrade before any other MX5 engine tuning is attempted.>> is that true??

quick google turned up that its a 40% increase in power, and it also uses the eaton M45 supercharger (same as found on supercharged mercs, mini cooper s) although it was changed to another one later on.

clutch yeah increasing the torque by that sort of amount it isnt going to last long
