Hi Schakal and welcome to the site. I had a renault 11 TLE as my first car. I bet the car is pretty quick with all that power! You should definately uprate the suspension and roll bar. Have you done the brakes too? I seem to remember that the standard brakes are pretty weak.

i got 19 16v brakes on the front ,in fact i bought new
calipers ,pads and discs as well as new flexi hoses for that job .

you are right about the suspension ,not the best handling cars
at all these ,luckily it originally being a r9 1.7 gtx model ,
i got the same suspension setup as the turbo versions .

i have lowered the front on some -40mm stiffer springs on standard
shocks at the minute and it made a remarkable difference
over the standard units .i want to get some gas filled shocks
for it but its really hard to find parts for these cars of the shelf
may be some coilover setup for a decent adjustable ride someday .

i want to lower the back end to match the front but the torsion
bars are seized solid in the back and they are not wanting to
come out , i will have to drop the rear axle to do the job
which will be a real ball ache

i got 15" wheels on it with 195/50 toyo t1-r proxes opposed to the
standard 13" steelies and the handling has improved further .

with this setup she handles pretty well , and gives you that feel
of warning before she will give the back end away on fast corners .

the extra power with my diy group A style induction kit
and a 2" scorpion s/s system makes a nice roar over 3k rpm
and i mean its immense

here are some pics of the beast
