Default Hello from a Newbie and advise please

Hi All

Just come across this forum whilst browsing. Just lately I've wanted an old VW Beetle, but don't really know where to start! Although I'm female I have a small amount of knowledge regards Engine etc, but know nothing about the old beetles.

I've browsed Ebay etc and am looking to buy for Christmas. :P

Can any of you give me some pointers etc?

Thanks
