Hi there crazy irishman. Another one from Ireland! What engine size is it and how much are you looking at spending on Modifications?

Mazda is not known for weak engineering. Most of Mazdas petrol engines will stand just about anything. Retrofitting a turbocharger is going to be complicated, however.

You'll need to lower the compression ratio somewhat - oversize (thickness) head gasket and shorter con-rods are the things to do in preparation.

Cooling will be a problem. You need to find space for a charge cooler/intercooler otherwise you'll have detonation problems from the start.
