hello there i have just purchased a 99 plate 206 1.4lx its got tinted windows fancy front and back lights i want to modify my engine on the cheap i dont know where to start as i dont knowabout engines but i want to learn it really intrests me my car is really slow at the moment can you give me tips what to do

To be honest mate there isn't much you can do without spending some £££'s.
You won't see many gains on a 1.4. You cheapest option would be an engine swap.

A car swap may prove more economic.

If you swap out the 1.4 and wedge in a 3.2 litre V6 your insurers will rob you blind.
