Can't say what average is as I don't have a data logger.

Generally change up at 2.5 to 3 and down at around 1.8 - 2.

Consider that 70mph is 2100rpm in fifth you clearly have to be sensible about this.

So I drive at 97 mph which is just under 3000 in fifth
