I sometimes get the diesel word used disparagingly.

eg. I drive a DIESEL;

Yours is the DIESEL;

It's only a DIESEL;

Does it go OK.....? (for a DIESEL?) etc.

Used to wind me up, but I just ignore it now.

Always amuses me that some folks thing a bog standard 1.6 petrol Astra is going to win in performance stakes 'cos it's a petrol car, innt?'
