When starting a business like this it is very easy to start doing everything as cheaply as possible. Then you suddenly realise that you are losing money. You need to have a thorough grasp of the time involved in each job and charge sufficient money to cover the cost of the job. You need to include the hours on the phone ordering and chasing up parts.

At first you might need a sideline to keep the money rolling in. Tyres is a good option - then as the modification of cars side of the business expands you can specialise in that.
