does anyone know of a reputable place where i can get one cheap? been quoted rediculouse prices: from 80 to 320. going scrappies in the morning anyway
EGR valves are a bloody nightmare. They are supposed to help reduce emissions. What's the point of diluting oxygen (one fifth part of the intake air) with spent exhaust gasses? It only makes for ever dirtier engines and exhausts.

EGR valves clog up and create more exhaust #!#!#!#!e as a result. Most cars use them even back into the mid 1980's!

If you can get the EGR functionality disabled in the ECU (yes, I'm a fan of electronic tuning) then you will never have issues with the EGR valve.

Surely it cannot be good for any engine to re-inhale its spent (exhaust) gas.

The green wonder society will say different. But of couse they will. They feed their own kids on liquidised grass cuttings laced with waste dish-washing-up water in the interest of 'greeness'.

They're probably vegetarians, too!!
