Mazda is not known for weak engineering. Most of Mazdas petrol engines will stand just about anything. Retrofitting a turbocharger is going to be complicated, however.
You'll need to lower the compression ratio somewhat - oversize (thickness) head gasket and shorter con-rods are the things to do in preparation.
Cooling will be a problem. You need to find space for a charge cooler/intercooler otherwise you'll have detonation problems from the start. |
